2. Overview

The informational part of this website is static and does not set any cookies; the shop area and the Cal.com embed use strictly necessary cookies (see Section 9). We do not use advertising services. We process personal data only in the following cases: when you visit the website (server log files and cookieless traffic measurement with Matomo), when you book a call through the contact page (Cal.com), when you contact us by email or phone, when you purchase a license (checkout on slidefab.com), and when the SlideFab software validates a license.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by webgo GmbH, Wandsbeker Zollstraße 95, 22041 Hamburg, Germany. When you visit the website, the server automatically processes data transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, requested page, referrer URL, browser type, and operating system.

This data is technically required to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website). IP addresses are logged only in masked form: the last part of the IP address is replaced with a zero and is not stored . We do not combine this data with other data sources.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with webgo GmbH.

4. Traffic measurement with Matomo

We use the analytics software Matomo on this website in a cookieless configuration. Matomo runs on our own server hosted by webgo GmbH in Germany; no data is transmitted to Matomo or any other third party. Matomo does not set cookies and does not create cross-device profiles. It records visited pages, referrer, browser type, and device type; your IP address is truncated before storage and is never stored in full.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in statistically analyzing the use of the website and improving our offering). Since no cookies are set and no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent under Section 25 of the German TDDDG is required. You can object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), for example by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser; Matomo honors this signal.

5. Booking a call via Cal.com

On the contact page we embed the scheduling tool Cal.com (Cal.com, Inc., USA). When you open the contact page, your browser loads content from Cal.com’s servers, which transmits your IP address to Cal.com. When you book a call, Cal.com additionally processes the details you enter in the booking form, in particular your name, email address, and the selected time slot.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps taken at your request) and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in simple appointment scheduling). Cal.com processes data on servers in the United States. The transfer to the United States is based on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). For details, see Cal.com’s privacy policy: https://cal.com/privacy

If you prefer not to use the embed, you can book directly on the Cal.com website or contact us by email.

6. Contact by email or phone

When you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide (name, contact details, content of your inquiry) in order to handle the inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the inquiry relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries). We delete this data once it is no longer needed to handle the inquiry and no statutory retention obligations apply.

7. Purchasing licenses

SlideFab licenses are purchased through the shop area on slidefab.com. There we process the data required for the order: name, email address, billing details, and the products ordered. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). We retain order and billing data in accordance with German commercial and tax law (Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code: ten years).

Payment is processed by the payment service provider Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). You enter your payment details directly with Stripe; we do not receive or store any credit card or bank account data. Stripe may also transfer data to Stripe, Inc. in the United States, based on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. For details, see Stripe’s privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy

8. License validation by the SlideFab software

The SlideFab software validates purchased licenses through an interface on our website. The software transmits the license key and the computer’s MAC address; the MAC address is stored to bind the license to up to two computers. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). You can delete stored MAC addresses yourself in the closed area of the website. We store customer account and license data for the duration of the customer relationship and beyond that only as required by statutory retention obligations. You cannot delete the customer account yourself: send us an email at info@slidefab.com and we will delete it.

9. Cookies

The informational part of this website does not set any cookies. The Cal.com embed on the contact page may set strictly necessary cookies to process the booking. The shop area uses strictly necessary cookies for the cart and the customer account; the legal basis is Section 25(2)(2) of the German TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

10. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, an email to info@slidefab.com is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz), Hintere Bleiche 34, 55116 Mainz, Germany.
