SlideFab version 9.0 brings a two new features. First of all, SlideFab tries to fix broken links to Linked Documents on the fly. Secondly, there is a new quality setting when saving the output as PDF. Besides, SlideFab contains now also a French translation.

Broken embedded Excel chart link fixing
When the template presentation contains linked Excel charts, then PowerPoint manages the underlying files within the Linked Documents feature. When the files are moved, then sometimes PowerPoint complains about missing these files, when SlideFab is running the automation.
A new feature tries to fix this on the fly. When PowerPoint can’t find the Linked Document, SlideFab assumes that these are the Excel workbook for the automation. So, SlideFab updates the paths in order to get this straight.
PDF output quality settings
In the previous update SlideFab got the new feature “Save as PDF”. This was enriched by a quality setting which can either achieve a higher quality (setting “screen”) or smaller files (setting “print”).
Bugfixes in version 9.0:
- For pivot charts SlideFab wrote “Column Label” or “Row Label” into the output as these terms appeared on the worksheet. Now SlideFab will ignore these and correctly use the row and column labels only.
- Some minor issues were fixed.
