Version 10.4 — March 2026
SlideFab version 10.4 is available now. It brings some minor bugfixes and code improvements.
Minor improvements
- The task pane no longer fails to initialize when opening presentations from SharePoint. Document path and tags are handled safely while the file is still loading, and Excel path is loaded when needed if it wasn’t available at startup. This complements the fix introduced in version 10.3.
SlideFab will update automatically, if enabled. And of course, you can download the new SlideFab files manually.

- The task pane no longer fails to initialize when opening presentations from SharePoint. Document path and tags are handled safely while the file is still loading, and Excel path is loaded when needed if it wasn’t available at startup.
- Several internal fixes to improve robustness and performance.

Version 10.2 — January 2026
SlideFab version 10.2 is available now. It brings a minor improvement regarding text fitting and some code improvements.
Minor improvements
- When writing text to a shape, SlideFab automatically tries to carefully reduce text size in order to fit the text into the shape. The target text size shall be as large as possible without exceeding the shape. The code for this task was improved to keep the text as large as possible, which was not always the case before.
SlideFab will update automatically, if enabled. And of course, you can download the new SlideFab files manually.

Version 10.1 — March 2025
SlideFab version 10.1 is available now. It brings a few bug fixes to improve performance and stability.
Bug fixes
- The issue with PowerPoint placeholders which came up in Version 10.0 is fixed. SlideFab will keep the placeholder positions when they were changed from their definition in the Master Slide. From the output slide SlideFab will remove any superfluous placeholders. Such placeholders were defined in the Slide Master but not used in the slide.
Fortunately, this fix does not require any user input or decision making. It will work out of the box immediately. - Some performance improvements were introduced to this new version which speed up slide making.
SlideFab will update automatically, if enabled. And of course, you can download the new SlideFab files manually.

SlideFab version 7.1 is available now. It brings a few bug fixes to improve performance and stability.
Bug fixes

SlideFab will update automatically, if enabled. And of course, you can download its new files over here.
Version 3.1 — April 2021
SlideFab version 3.1 is available now. It brings a few bug fixes to improve performance and stability.
Bug fixes
- Removed a superfluous saving of temporary PowerPoint presentations while making charts. The change reduces the probability of errors and slightly improves slide making performance.
- Removed a bug when using the Excel Chart Export Mode for Pivot Charts.
- SlideFab reported errors when other COM Add-Ins in PowerPoint could not be enabled/disabled during slide making. Such messages are now demoted to warnings.
- Fixed a small glitch in the Slide Linking Panel which made an icon look slightly distorted.
- The file System.IO.Compression.dll was removed from the installer files to not interfere with existing versions on the computer following a Microsoft guideline.
This version is of course virus free. A few false positive detections for the automatic installer (e.g. from Symantec) were double-checked and confirmed harmless, c.f. Virustotal.com
Version 1.11 — July 2020
SlideFab v1.11 is available now. It brings a few bug fixes to improve performance and stability.
Bug fixes
- A bug was fixed that led to issues after changing the SlideFab language.
- An issue was solved that led to an infinite loop in some cases when making slides failed.
- An issue was resolved which happened when files were available on a network drive instead of the local hard drive.
- A bug was fixed that led to missing slide previews during slide making when putting content to a placeholder instead of a shape.
Version 1.9 — November 2019
SlideFab v1.9 is available now. It contains code changes due to a recent update in think-cell 10 which led to a PowerPoint freeze after starting the Slide Making process.
Always remember: think-cell is an awesome product. But it might stop working with SlideFab at anytime due to updates to the think-cell software. SlideFab will try to keep it running.

Of course, it is possible to use Excel and PowerPoint charts with SlideFab. There are so many options, choose what you prefer most!
The new version is available here.
Version 1.8 — August 2019
SlideFab v1.8 is available now. It brings a couple of logical improvements to the Slide Loops feature. This feature can be used as an alternative or an enrichment to the overall iteration when creating multiple copies of a given slide. Of course, this new version is also available in the free SlideFab LITE edition.
Logical improvements and other changes:
- Slide Loops: When the total number of slide copies to be created was 0 then SlideFab did not do anything to the slide. Even exclusion conditions were ignored. Now SlideFab will handle such cases as if the slide exclusion condition was true. So, SlideFab won’t put the slide into the output presentation.
- Slide Loops: So far SlideFab left the content of the Slide Loop Counter cell untouched after finishing the Slide Loop. However, there are cases when Excel formulas need to check whether a Slide Loop is currently running. Accordingly, SlideFab will clean up afterwards and empty this cell properly.
- A couple of code changes were conducted to improve overall SlideFab robustness when automatically creating slides.

Version 1.6 — January 2019
SlideFab v1.6 is available now. It brings a couple of minor bug fixes and improvements. Of course, this version is also available in the free SlideFab LITE edition.
Bug Fixes:
- Improved readability of icons
- Removed “jumping” of reference editor for selecting Excel ranges
- Fixed an error when the lite version showed index out of range while making slides
- Shape condition with delete command now works without specifying a source range
- Some further smaller bugs fixed
Version 1.3 — July 2018
SlideFab v1.3 is a bugfix update addressing a recent issue with the license server authentication:
While activating SlideFab license, it was signaling “no internet connection” erroneously.
Bug Fixes:
- License authentication and update check were updated to handle server-side SSL/TLS protocol change
Version 1.2 — June 2018
SlideFab v1.2 is a minor update introducing a few new features, improvements and bugfixes.
Features:
- Added a new resize mode for shapes: “Scale To Fit” which helps if e.g. source images sometimes come in landscape or portrait mode. In these cases Scale to Fit ensures that the source image remains within the dimensions of the target shape while keeping the aspect ratio (i.e. no scaling distortions). Cf. screenshot below where Resizing is currently set to “Scale to Fit” (4-way arrow).
- Added a new feature to help positioning in export mode “Indirect Shape” both vertically and horizontally (cf. screenshot below “H-Align” and “V-Align”). It is now possible to decide between left, center, right and top, middle, bottom alignment in case the picture does not fill the whole target shape dimensions. This might particularly be the case when using resize mode “Scale to Fit”.
Improvements:
- Improved performance for larger Excel files with many larger Excel tables.
- Improved notification for user when shapes or charts to be exported were incorrectly addressed. SlideFab will write a notification into respective target shapes.
Bug Fixes:
- Merged cells when exporting tables led to incorrect duplicate content in merged cell areas.
- Sometimes custom PowerPoint presentation designs can get corrupted. In these cases SlideFab ceased making slides. This is now fixed, although the corrupted design might not work after all.
